That butterfly-shaped glad which can be found just below our Adam’s apple in our neck is called the thyroid gland. People with hypothyroidism can also suffer puffiness and swelling of the face and feet. Women are also more likely to acquire hypothyroidism than men.
Having hypothyroidism can also be very risky for infants. Babies lacking in T3 and T4 hormones are likely to have mental retardation and dwarfism. Common signs of hypothyroidism in a child are inactivity,excessive sleeping,and poor appetite.This usually results from pituitary gland disorders or the absence of thyroid glands.
Another type of thyroid problem is the cancer of the gland. Cancer results from the presence of malignant thyroid nodules. While 75 percent of the US population have thyroid nodules,only one percent of these nodules are malignant. Those who had radiation treatment before are more likely to acquire this condition. There are four types of thyroid gland cancer –papillary,follicular,medullary,or anaplastic.

i have had pregnancy sign in the pass,hair and nail growth like crazy,very lite period,heartburn,loss weight
i had it all etc….i thought i was pregnant but i guess not i would be bout 6 goin on 7 mnth. would have been my1st child,my hormones where not off balance i got that checked,but i do feel like smethng is goin on in my belly. i feel like i have gas all the time like gas bubbles poppin or smething thumpin r tappin me,r like i have butterflies in my lower abdomen it don’t hurt i just laugh if off.sometime i feel a lump on my lower right abdomen and sometime i feel like it moves then it stop,but i just take it as gas. i’m also tired of goin to the rest room alot late at night and i don’t hv a kidney r bladder infection i been checked my friend still think i am pregnant but the baby is hiding yeah right,i read it was possible but rare,that would be funny to all of sudden go into labor and hv a baby…lol but is there anybody out there that may hv a answer what could it be….no bs please just respectful answers thanks confused not stressed…
Here’s a thought- see a Doctor already. a 6 month old fetus can’t ‘hide’from the doctor,no matter how they try.If you are pregnant,you are in dire need of prenatal care.
BTW,weight loss isn’t a pregnancy symptom,especially not months out into it.

Hair Loss –The Causes Of Extreme Hair Loss
Hair loss in men,women and children can be caused by a host of reasons. Sometimes the reason is right in front of your eyes but because you are not looking for it,you do not see it. If you can identify the reason for it falling out,then it makes it easier to do something about it. Some balding is temporary and some is permanent. Both can be caused by similar reasons. For example,several months after a major surgery or illness,your hair could suddenly fallout in large clumps. Hormonal changes can cause thinning hair as well. Having an overactive or underactive thyroid may cause your hair to fall out. This usually can be corrected by treatment for thyroid disease. This can occur in males or females especially if the hormones,known as androgens or estrogens are out of balance. Having your doctor correct your hormone imbalance may stop your hair from thinning.
Pregnancy can cause hair loss in many women,especially approximately three months after they have had their baby. This hair loss can also be contributed to hormones. Higher levels of certain hormones during pregnancy cause the body to keep hair from falling out. Once the hormone levels return to normal after the pregnancy,the hair starts to fall out again. This could cause the hair to come out in clumps until the normal cycle of hair growth and loss takes place.
Medications can also cause balding. This type of hair loss is normally temporary and your hair will return,provided you stop taking the medication. Some medications that can possibly cause hair loss include birth control pills,antidepressants,large amounts of vitamin A,high blood pressure medication,medication used for gout and blood thinners or anticoagulants. If you are experiencing thinning of your hair,take note to see if you have started or changed medications. You may have to consult your doctor asking him/her to make a change in your medication to another that will not cause thinning of the hair.
Infections can also cause hair loss. Bacteria or fungal infections of the scalp can cause hair loss mostly in children. This can usually be treated with antifungal medications. Most hair loss in children is usually temporary,once the cause is found and treated.
Another cause of balding is underlying disease,such as diabetes or lupus. Hair loss can be an early indication of disease and is essential that it be paid attention to if just for this reason alone. If this is the case,it is important to catch the disease early. Once the disease is treated,the hair should stop falling out and regrow.
